We are experienced in managing projects with small or large budgets and work collaboratively with the QS (if one is engaged otherwise this can managed by us) to ensure all known costs are captured and communicated.
To manage cost throughout the design phase, an understanding of the cost plan by the project design team in conjunction with the regular involvement of the QS will enable decisions to made during the design process. This is done in conjunction with the client to ensure the project deliverables are not compromised. Systematic cost plan reviews at the end of each design stage will ensure the cost plan is not compromised with the implementation of value management strategies as needed.
JC Project Consulting understands that the value management process is not just to lower the costs but to minimize the cost of delivering the required project outcomes and benefits.
The administration of the various contracts is an essential element of cost management and JC Project Consulting will work closely with the QS to make sure actual fee expenditure and progress claims match against the anticipated budget. This is done not only through administration but also by understanding the various scopes of work and how they interrelate, controlling, managing change, regular forecasting, communication of cost to date and cost to complete.
Throughout the project life cycle, there will be matters that create risk and opportunity as part of the nature of projects. These matters need to be identified and controlled to ensure that the best possible outcome is achieved but also included into the cost plan to enable a total understanding of the status of the project.
